What is the advantage of the outer packaging film of rock wool blocks?

Individually wrapped cubes hold the rock wool's shape for transplanting without hurting the roots.

The individually packaging provides a fixed outer frame for the rock wool block, allowing it to maintain its original shape. Because the shape of the rock wool is fixed, the position of the plant in it is also relatively fixed, thus reducing movement and possible damage during transplantation.

Especially the roots, due to the fixed shape of the rock wool and the protection of the packaging, can be avoided from being squeezed or torn during transplantation.

Outer packaging film for comfortable handling.

The outer film is very useful on multiple levels. On the one hand, it can provide an extra layer of protection to prevent the rock wool blocks from being contaminated or damaged during transportation or storage. On the other hand, this film makes handling more convenient because growers can easily pick up, move and place the rock wool blocks without having to directly contact the rock wool fibers.

Prevent algae growth

The film can effectively prevent excessive direct sunlight and reduce the rapid evaporation of water, indirectly reducing the production of green algae. At the same time, the opaque film wrapped around the rock wool block can provide a stable dark environment for the development of plant roots, prompting the plant roots to grow downward.

Does the wrap around the cube have to be removed before planting?

Generally not necessary to be removed before planting if you are starting clone cannabis plants of in starter cubes and moving them to bigger growing cubes. Get the clones up to flowering in a hydro system is realy speed.

You need to remove the outer film if you put the rockwool cube in soil. It depends on the environment you grow cannabis in.
